Nick Lachey Interview Nov 7th 2011, 10:12 Nick Lachey Speaks Out Nick Lachey has been pretty quiet during the media frenzy that followed his split from Jessica Simpson. The short list of Nick's alleged distractions includes Kristin Cavallari, Elizabeth Arnold, Vanessa Minnillo, and even Jessica's pal, Cacee Cobb. Nick is no longer silent and is spilling the beans in his latest interview with Allison Glock of Rolling Stone magazine for the May 2006 issue. Music Therapy After he split from Jessica Simpson, Nick headed back to the recording studio to do what he truly loves and recorded a solo album. The first track released off the album was titled "What's Left of Me" and was quite telling indeed. In the song, he croons about his bruised heart and refers to himself as "broken and fading". Many saw this as a sad attempt to garner sympathy from his audience of listeners. If anything, this new interview with Rolling Stone should take care of that goal. Tears of Pain During his interview, Nick broke down in tears six times when he spoke about his failed relationship with Jessica Simpson. He said, "It breaks my heart that I couldn't make Jessica happy. I wanted to be everything to my wife." He also managed to down four alcoholic beverages, probably to numb the pain of his broken heart. "People forget that we're real people dealing with real hurt," said Lachey. Cheating Hearts Rumors swirled constantly that Nick’s wife Jessica was cheating on him with various men. The tabloids allegedly linked her to Dukes of Hazzard co-star Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, and Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine. While none of the reports were confirmed, Nick wasn't affected by the talk. He told the magazine "Even if she cheated five times over, I still love her. Love isn’t the easiest thing to cut off." Last Ditch Effort Contrary to popular belief, Nick did not want his relationship with Jessica to end. Being a child of divorced parents, he wanted more than anything to make his own marriage last. He said he was even willing to explore the option of marriage counseling. “On the day she filed for divorce, I drove to her parent's house and tried to change her mind. I thought we owed it to ourselves to try,” the singer said. Unfortunately, Jessica's mind was made up and she was completely unwilling to seek counseling with Nick.
