Katy Perry looked every bit the high school freshman in her Dos Pueblos High yearbook photo, but two years later the Santa Barbara, California, native would drop out to pursue her music career. Of growing up in a strict born-again Christian household, Perry (born Katy Hudson) told Vanity Fair in 2011, "I didn’t have a childhood," adding that she relied on friends to sneak her CDs because her pastor-parents wouldn't allow her to listen to secular music.
